Anthracite Coal

Anthracite coal is one of nature's cleanest-burning solid fuels and carbon sources. Originally discovered in eastern Pennsylvania in 1769, it is abundant and close to us here in the Northeast. Anthracite provides an even heat flow and a high level of BTUs compared with other fuels, making it a warm, steady heat source.

Modern anthracite heating appliances require little attention, and many coal stoves can be left unattended for up to 36 hours. Blaschak Coal Corporation of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania has produced coal since 1937 and packages anthracite in easy-to-handle 40-pound bags. Anthracite produces very little ash, limited creosote buildup, and virtually no smoke.
