Hitzer Coal Inserts
Hitzer's inserts come in two different feed styles. The traditional front-loading model is Model 983. These stoves burn either anthracite or bituminous coal. The 983 has 2 100 Cfm Blower and a convenient ash draw. They offer two different door options in a single-door or double-door look. The 983 is approved only to burn coal but can handle wood as well. Model 983 is also available as a freestanding stove. The E-Z FLO Gravity feed stoves; Models 503. This model of stove burns either anthracite nut or pea coal, or you can remove the hopper and burn Bituminous coal. These Stoves require no moving parts to operate, which means two things: they can operate in power failures and have fewer components that can break. Their insert is made of 11 gauge and 1/4" steel, Robax glass, air wash damper control, air intake control, and lined with firebrick. Air flows into the firebox at the ashtray and spinner controls at fire level and above the doors. This promotes efficient combustion as well as secondary burning of gases.
